Privacy Policy

1. Who we are

PlantQuill (plantquill.com) is an independent site about caring for indoor plants. This policy covers information collected through this website. It doesn’t cover other sites we might link to — once you click away from PlantQuill, their own privacy policy applies.

2. Information we collect

Right now PlantQuill collects information in two ways:

• Contact form submissions. When you email us through the Contact Us page, we receive the name, email address, and message you enter. We use this only to reply to you.
• Standard server logs. Like almost every website, our hosting provider automatically records basic technical information — your IP address, browser type, and which pages you visited — for security and to keep the site running properly. We don’t personally review this data; it sits in hosting logs unless there’s a security issue to investigate.

We do not currently use analytics tools, advertising networks, affiliate tracking, or a newsletter signup. If that changes, this section will be updated first — see the box near the bottom of this page for what that would look like.

3. How we use it

• To respond to questions sent through the contact form.
• To keep the website secure and working correctly.

We don’t use your information for anything beyond that.

4. Cookies

PlantQuill does not currently use tracking, analytics, or advertising cookies. Our hosting provider or basic WordPress setup may set a small number of technical cookies needed for the site to load and function correctly — these don’t identify you personally and aren’t used to track you across other websites.

5. Sharing your information

We don’t sell your information, and we don’t share it with third parties for marketing purposes. The only exception is if we’re required to by law, or to protect the site from abuse or security threats.

6. How long we keep it

Contact form emails are kept in our inbox for as long as reasonably needed to handle your question, and then deleted during regular inbox cleanup. Server logs are kept by our hosting provider according to their own retention schedule, typically a matter of weeks.

7. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to ask what personal information we hold about you, request that we correct or delete it, or ask us to stop processing it. Since we collect very little information to begin with, most requests are simple to handle — email us at the address below and we’ll sort it out.

8. Children’s privacy

PlantQuill isn’t directed at children, and we don’t knowingly collect information from anyone under 13. If you believe a child has submitted information through our contact form, email us and we’ll remove it.

9. Changes to this policy

If PlantQuill starts using new tools, such as analytics, advertising, or a newsletter, we’ll update this page to reflect that and change the “last updated” date at the top. We’d recommend checking back occasionally if you’re curious.
